Though the use of the word “temple” implies religious affiliation, it certainly is not some kind of cult. That’s why it’s so reassuring that the Temple of Hip-Hop exists. Those of us who do know and care about it usually don’t have the same opportunity to shed light on the culture as those who have gotten rich keeping it shrouded in darkness. For the most part, anything young and urban is considered Hip-Hop by the mainstream, regardless of whether it is actually a part of the culture. For example, people can identify the basic elements of Rock music, Jazz, or Blues, but what is “real” Hip-Hop remains a mystery to most. One of the biggest things working to the detriment of Hip-Hop is hardly any one outside of the culture knows or cares what it really is. This is something I found and I thot I would copy and paste it here so someone else could read it cause everybodys always talking bout what "real" hip-hop is. But that Krs-One & Buckshot is better if you ask me, its one of the best cds that Ive heard in awhile.
